Is there a difference? Social media VS Real-life communication.
As humanity explores new horizons of progress and connectivity, from letters to video calls today, technology has brought mankind significantly closer it also has created a void. The advent of social media not only yielded to its application for far-off distances but also replaced the short distance real-life interactions amongst the people. While people start to spend more time on-screen instead of face-to-face interaction, a social connection of mankind with each other that stems from real-life interaction are breaking apart.
There are competing schools of thought that put forth arguments in favor as well as in opposition to the use of social media. But there is no denial in the fact that face-to-face people’s interaction is lost along the way somewhere. While it’s inevitably true that social media platforms like Skype help close ones stay visually connected with each other while still living at far off distance for which the role of social media just cannot be denied but the fact that real-life interaction is also at the brink of extinction and is seriously compromised could also not be ignored.
