As of today, there are about 621 million young people aged 15–24 who are neither employed nor in education or any other kind of training program. 75 million youth is trained but deprived of jobs. Currently, young people are three times more likely to be unemployed than Adults. As per the international labor, Organization estimates the global youth has reached 13.2% in 2018, while the employed youth is not doing wonders as well with 23% of it making less than 1.25$ a day. Youth Unemployment rates fluctuate from state to state, in Asia Brunei is leading the ranking with a 28.1% unemployment rate while Cambodia is at 0.4%. While in the USA the unemployment rate is at 3.9%, as low it may seem it still represents a large chunk of the unutilized workforce. We do see a decline in economic crisis since 2009’s economic crisis but still, the lack of quality employment opportunities for the youth continues to hamper the youth’s quest for decent work.

Youth unemployment is of special relevance in Latin America swell where 40% of the total unemployed workers are youngsters, the more than 14% of youth unemployment is more than double the average unemployment rate of 6 % in LATAM. One out of every 5 people is failing to find a job and when they finally do, they do not meet the ideal standards for productive jobs, lacking social security benefits and pension, etc.
